Lucknow, 26 July: The dream home of Ruby of Gosaiganj, the first beneficiary of Yogi Government’s Zero Poverty Campaign, is starting to get built. She will shift from a hut to a pucca house in the next few months. Ruby and her husband Ram Sagar are very happy to see their dream of a pucca house coming true.

The couple said that they had never thought, even in their wildest dreams, that they would ever be able to come out of the clutches of poverty, but the Yogi Government has come forward for such families of the state.

Ruby of Gosaiganj in Lucknow was once living in a small cottage, but today with the help of the Yogi Government, her home is taking shape. It has been the priority of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that no family in the state should live below the poverty line. Bringing this thought to the ground, ‘Zero Poverty Abhiyan’ was announced on October 2 last year, whose first beneficiary was Ruby’s family.

Chief Secretary is monitoring the construction of Ruby’s house

Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh said that under the ‘Zero Poverty Drive’ of the Yogi government, the construction work of the concrete house being built for Ruby of Silauli village under Gosaiganj in Uttar Pradesh is going on at a fast pace and will be completed in the next few months. Special attention is being paid to quality in this construction work.

Chief Secretary said that he himself is monitoring the benefits of other schemes including the construction work of the house. The change in Ruby’s life is not limited to the house only. Earlier, the Yogi government had taken a big step towards self-reliance by getting her husband Ram Sagar a job in the prestigious private sector company L&T. Now Ram Sagar is working in L&T on a monthly salary of more than Rs 18 thousand, which has brought stability in the financial condition of the family. While Ram Sagar is now able to support his family on the basis of his hard work and ability, Ruby is feeling safe and empowered.

Singh told that the objective of the Zero Poverty Campaign of the Yogi government is to identify the most vulnerable and deprived sections of the state and provide them multi-dimensional assistance so that they can come out of the vicious cycle of poverty. In this scheme, not only financial assistance, but holistic support is being ensured in areas like employment, housing, education and health.

At the same time, Ruby expressed her gratitude to the Yogi government and said that she could never imagine that she too would have a pucca house one day. She said that we used to live in a hut and water used to drip in the rain. In summer, the roof used to burn like a hot pan, but now the dream of living in a pucca house is about to be fulfilled and all this has been possible with the help of the Yogi government. This has completely changed my life. Ruby’s story not only shows the success of the Yogi government’s scheme, but is also an inspiration for lakhs of such families who are still trapped in the chains of poverty.
