Agra, 15 September: The Resentment among the Jat community of Brij region has erupted over the removal of Bharatpur princely flag by Prince Anirudh Singh in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan and hoisting another flag. In protest against the removal of the flag, the Jat community has mobilized and announced to hold a Maha Panchayat on September 21 in Bharatpur Fort Moti Mahal.
Recently, Maharaja Vishvendra Singh of Bharatpur princely state posted on social media and informed that Prince Anirudh Singh has replaced the old flag of Bharatpur princely state and hoisted a different flag of his own free will. On receiving this information, great resentment against Anirudh Singh has emerged in Jat dominated areas of Brij region including Bharatpur, Agra, Mathura and nearby.
Agra district of Uttar Pradesh shares its border with Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. Jat community is present in large numbers in Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Agra, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh bordering it. In these areas also, the Jat community is opposing the change of the princely flag.
Let us tell you that in Bharatpur princely state, there has been a dispute going on for a long time between Maharaja and former minister Vishvendra Singh and his son Anirudh Singh regarding property. The matter is going on from registration of complaint in police to court cases. Due to this dispute, Vishvendra Singh is living in a farm house outside Moti Mahal. Vishvendra Singh’s son Anirudh Singh and wife former MP Divya Singh are together. In this princely dispute between father and son, the sentiments of the Jat community seem to be leaning towards father Vishvendra Singh regarding the change of flag.
Captain Singh Chahar, District President of All India Jat Mahasabha Agra said that although the dispute over property is an internal matter of the royal family, but Prince Anurodh Singh does not have the right to change the flag of Bharatpur princely state. This is a step that hurts the sentiments of the Jat community. Therefore, this matter has become a social matter rather than a familial one. The flag of any royal family is changed only when it accepts defeat. We strongly oppose this action and due to this, we are giving time till September 21 to Anirudh Singh to hoist the old flag on Moti Mahal, otherwise on September 21, a big panchayat of the Jat community will be organized in Moti Mahal in which we will hoist the flag ourselves and will welcome Maharaja Vishvendra Singh into Moti Mahal.
By making a video viral, Anirudh Singh has also presented his side and said that the new flag is not anti-national. The old flag was of the war period, which is not appropriate to be hoisted every time, so it was removed.
