‘War 2’ dominated the box office on the fourth day as well Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani’s strong acting film ‘War 2’ was released in theatres on 14 August on the occasion of Independence Day. This action and thriller filled film has received mixed reactions from critics and audience. Despite this, the film is continuously earning well at the box office.
According to box office tracking portal Sacnilk, ‘War 2’ did a business of around Rs 31 crore on the fourth day of its release i.e. on the first Sunday. The film had a strong opening of Rs 52 crore on the first day. After this, the collection increased to Rs 57.35 crore on the second day, while on the third day the film earned Rs 33.25 crore. In this way, the total box office collection of ‘War 2’ in India in just 4 days has reached Rs 173.60 crore. ‘War 2′ is directed by Ayan Mukherjee, while its producer is Aditya Chopra. This is the sixth installment of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. The film features a fierce clash between Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR, while the on-screen chemistry of Hrithik and Kiara Advani also remains a special attraction.
It is worth noting that ‘War 2’ is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film ‘War’, which did a great business of about Rs 471 crore worldwide.
Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ continues to rule the box office
Superstar Rajinikanth’s pan-India film ‘Coolie’ was released in theatres on 14 August along with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘War 2’. Both the films have made a great start at the box office, but in terms of earnings, ‘Coolie’ is still ahead of ‘War 2’. The business of the film is rapidly moving towards the Rs 200 crore mark.
According to the report of box office tracker Sacnilk, ‘Coolie’ earned around Rs 35 crore on Sunday, i.e. the fourth day of its release. With this, the total box office collection of the film has reached Rs 194.25 crore. The film had done a blockbuster business of Rs 65 crore on the opening day. On the second day, its collection fell to Rs 54.75 crore, while on the third day, the film was successful in earning Rs 39.5 crore.
‘Coolie’ is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and this is his first collaboration with Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth is seen in the role of Deva in the film. Seeing Thalaiva’s tremendous action and his special swag, the audience has once again become crazy about him. Stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj and Rachita Ram appear in important roles in this film. At the same time, Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde make the film more attractive with their special cameo.
