New Delhi, September 20: In a big relief to passengers, the Indian Railway Board has decided to reduce the maximum retail price (MRP) of bottled drinking water ‘Rail Neer’ and other shortlisted brands.
According to a commercial circular issued by the Railway Ministry on Saturday, the price of a one-liter water bottle has now been reduced from โน15 to โน14, and the price of a half-liter bottle has been reduced from โน10 to โน9. These revised rates will apply not only to ‘Rail Neer’ but also to packaged water bottles of other shortlisted brands available on railway station premises and in trains. The new prices will be effective from September 22.
The Railway Board has issued instructions to all zonal railways and IRCTC to take necessary action in this regard.
