Lucknow, March 13: The Congress Party will celebrate the birth anniversary of Bahujan leader Kanshi Ram in Uttar Pradesh on Friday as Social Change Day.
The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will address the event organized by the Congress’s Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes Department at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.
The state Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi stated that the Congress will hold a large-scale event today to carry forward Kanshi Ram’s ideas and build the India of his dreams. The Congress is celebrating Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary as “Social Change Day.” A Bahujan Samvad program will be organized on his birth anniversary to discuss issues related to Dalits, backward classes, and minority communities. Anshu Awasthi stated that under the BJP government, Dalits, the exploited, and the vulnerable are being targeted, killed, and harassed.
National General Secretary/In-Charge Avinash Pandey, State Congress President Ajay Rai, Leader of the Legislative Party Aradhana Mishra Mona, Scheduled Caste Department President Rajendra Pal Gautam, Backward Class Department President Anil Jaihind, National Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, Pradeep Narwal, along with senior Congress leaders and workers from across the state will participate in the program.
