Gorakhpur, November 29: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state government has initiated large-scale work to provide jobs and employment to millions of youth in their home areas. The government has made considerable efforts to achieve this. A better security environment has been created where hooliganism, goonda tax, mafia rule, and arbitrariness do not flourish. A policy of zero tolerance is adopted against crime and criminals, and against corruption and corrupt people. Action is taken accordingly.

Yogi stated that the zero tolerance is not just a language but also a spirit, which has been implemented strictly on the ground. As a result, Uttar Pradesh has today succeeded in establishing itself as a model state in the country in terms of law and order and security.

Chief Minister said that the mafia is now gone from the state. Curfews are gone, riots are over, and anarchy is at an end. The state of unrest has now become a state of celebration.

Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the 36th Foundation Day celebrations of the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on Saturday.

In a grand and diverse ceremony, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 114 development projects worth ₹408 crore for infrastructure development in various sectors of GIDA. He personally handed over allotment certificates to five investors from 115 plots allocated for a proposed investment of ₹6,139 crore.

He also distributed certificates to youth who received skill development training from the NIELIT campus at GIDA.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the three-day UP State Trade Show held at GIDA. During the event, he laid the foundation stone for a ₹34 crore flattened factory in Lucknow and an ODOP packaging CFC in Gorakhpur costing ₹3.91 crore, and distributed incentives and loans to entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, Yogi said that people cite Uttar Pradesh as an example of what a security environment should be like and how action should be taken against criminals and mafias.

He said that a better security environment has been created in Uttar Pradesh. Direct communication was established with the farmers who provide food. They began receiving good compensation for their land. The government clearly believes that no farmer who provides food should be treated unfairly. They should be talked to. No poor person should be displaced, this is the government’s resolve. And, if a development project requires the land of a poor person, they should also be given good compensation. Housing facilities should also be provided for them.

Chief Minister said that when this resolve began, Uttar Pradesh also succeeded in providing the best infrastructure in the country.

Chief Minister said that Eastern Uttar Pradesh has been continuously neglected since independence. Industries here were either nonexistent or on the verge of closure. Mafia-induced corruption had crippled investment. Today, modern development is underway, and investment is pouring in. Even the nation’s and world’s largest entrepreneurs are coming to Gorakhpur and Eastern Uttar Pradesh to invest. Improved law and order since 2017, excellent infrastructure, excellent connectivity, and nearly three dozen sectoral policies have led to a surge in investors in GIDA.

CM explained that over the past eight years, nearly 500 industrial units have been established in GIDA. Investments totaling over ₹11,618 crore have directly employed nearly 40,000 youth. Keyan Industries, Ankur Industries, India Auto Wheels, SD International, CP Milk & Foods, Tatva Plastics, Kapila Agro Industries, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, and Campa are all investing here. Reliance Group is also preparing to set up a Campa-branded unit in Dhuriapar. The

Chief Minister stated that 800 acres of land has been made available along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. A plastic park and a flattened factory are also coming up under the Sector Specific Scheme, providing more opportunities for the youth. Youth are being trained in skill development through NIELIT. A major industrial corridor is being developed from GIDA to Dariyapur, which will include Ambuja Cement and Shreyas Distillery.

Chief Minister stated that GIDA will be established as a developed industrial hub in the future.

Chief Minister expressed his delight that Gita Press, which has given global recognition to India’s eternal tradition in Gorakhpur, has also received an allotment letter for 10 acres of land in GIDA today. Certificates were also presented to students associated with NIELIT.

Congratulating everyone on GIDA’s Foundation Day, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that by pursuing the development process with positive energy, GIDA will be established as a major industrial hub in Uttar Pradesh. It will be developed as a hub of new employment and job opportunities for the youth of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The foundation day celebrations of GIDA were also addressed by the state’s Industrial Development Minister Nandgopal Gupta Nandi, MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan, and MP Ravi Kishan Shukla.
