Now children suffering from heart ailments to get better facilities in SGPGI Lucknow

Lucknow, 18 August: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday inaugurated the SBI Foundation ICU Project at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow. This project will be operated in Saloni Heart Center, which is dedicated to the treatment of congenital heart diseases of children. On this occasion, SBI Foundation provided a contribution of about 10 crores. With this amount, the center will be equipped with modern equipment and necessary resources.

Chief Minister said that the lack of high-level treatment facilities for children’s cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) was being felt for a long time in the state. In such a situation, Saloni Heart Center is a big achievement of the state.

He told that till now more than 300 children’s heart surgery has been done successfully in this center which was inaugurated one and a half years ago. The first phase of the Heart Center is fully functional, while the work of the second phase is progressing rapidly.

Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the couple Mili Seth and Himanshu Seth, directors of Saloni Heart Foundation, as well as the support of SBI Foundation.

He said that Saloni Heart Center is infusing new hope in the lives of thousands of families of the state. This initiative is a direct result of the Global Investors Summit 2023 and is proving to be extremely useful in saving the lives of children.

Chief Minister also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has previously achieved remarkable success in eradicating a serious disease like encephalitis and now solid progress is also being made in the treatment of children’s heart diseases. He expressed confidence that this cooperation of SBI Foundation will make Saloni Heart Center more capable and will prove to be a milestone in saving the lives of children in the times to come.

On this occasion, SGPGI Director Dr R.K. Dhiman also informed the Chief Minister about the activities and achievements of the Heart Center since its establishment till now.

Besides Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and State Minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, several officials from Saloni Foundation, SBI, SGPGI and Health Department participated in the program.
