Gautam Buddha Nagar, October 17: A female gynecologist living in JP Wish Town has filed a case on last night against her Karnataka cadre IPS husband and seven members of his family under various sections including dowry harassment at Police Station Sector 126.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety) Manisha Singh said that Dr Kirti Singh filed a report at Police Station Sector 126 last night. In this report, she has named her husband Shivanshu Rajput (2019 batch Karnataka cadre IPS officer) and his father Ram Prakash Rajput, mother Asha Rajput, brother Himanshu Rajput, sister-in-law Reema Singh, Tushar Srivastava and Vibhor Kumar Srivastava.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police said that according to the victim, their marriage took place in the year 2021 at the five-star hotel JP Palace in Agra. Now, the husband’s entire family is harassing her for dowry. The police are investigating the matter.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stated that, according to the victim, her father spent millions of rupees on the wedding, exceeding his means. The victim alleges that Himanshu Rajput and his family are demanding millions of rupees in dowry after the wedding. When the dowry demands are not met, they are harassing her by beating her.
According to the victim, both her family and she have made numerous efforts to move forward with their family and relationships, but her in-laws are refusing to listen. She stated that the police have registered a report and are investigating the matter. An attempt was made to obtain the IPS officer’s side of the story, but he could not be contacted.
