Neuro Pain Clinic started at KGMU, Lucknow

Lucknow, May 21: The Department of Neurology at King George Medical University, Lucknow has started a special Neuro Pain Clinic. This initiative is being started under the leadership of Head of Department (HoD) Prof Dr Rajesh Verma and Dr Ankit Khaitan, Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology. The Neuro Pain Clinic was inaugurated on Wednesday.

HoD Prof Dr Rajesh Verma said that the Neuro Pain Clinic will be operated every second and fourth Wednesday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Room No. 110 (First Floor), in the Department of Neurology. It will be operated by Dr. Ankit Khaitan. This clinic will provide dedicated, specialized treatment to patients suffering from long-term and complex neurological and musculoskeletal pain.

He said that this initiative is an important step towards pain management by the Department of Neurology. This will provide holistic, modern and quality treatment to the patients.

On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr Suresh Kumar and Dr Manish Kumar Singh, Professor, Department of Pain and Anesthesiology were present as special guests.

These diseases will be treated in the clinic

Headache (migraine and tension type), carpal tunnel syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, myofascial pain syndrome, de-querence tenosynovitis, pain related to osteoarthritis, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, epicondylitis (tennis/golfer’s elbow), ultrasound guided frozen shoulder, lower back pain, hyperhidrosis, central pain syndrome after stroke.
