New Delhi, November 5: Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, on Wednesday launched the nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0. This month-long campaign, which will run until November 30, aims to simplify the life certificate process for pensioners. More than 5.5 million digital life certificates have been issued in the first four days of the campaign, while the target for the entire month is two crore.

Under Campaign 4.0, 2,500 camps are being set up in approximately 2,000 districts and cities across the country, which will be operated by 1,250 nodal officers. Organizations such as 19 pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank, UIDAI, MeitY, EPFO, Railways, and the Department of Telecommunications are participating in the campaign. India Post Payments Bank alone is providing door-to-door life certificate services at over 1,600 locations through 1.8 lakh postal employees.

Dr Singh said that this initiative embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “ease of living” and “citizen-centric governance.”

He explained that face authentication technology is being specifically encouraged this time to provide greater convenience to elderly pensioners.

Calling it a unique experiment in the world, Dr Singh said that this initiative is not only increasing administrative efficiency but also making society technology-friendly.
