Lakhimpur Kheri, October 27: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the renaming of Mustafabad in Lakhimpur Kheri district to Kabirdham.
He said that during previous governments, Ayodhya was renamed Faizabad, Prayagraj was renamed Allahabad, and Kabirdham was renamed Mustafabad. We have worked to restore the identity of these places. The opposition used to do all this in the name of secularism, whereas this is hypocrisy.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Vishwa Kalyan Ashram in Mustafabad on Sunday and participated in the ‘Smriti Prakatyotsav Mela-2025’ and paid homage to revered saints.
At this event held at Kabirdham Ashram, the Chief Minister said that the words of Saint Kabirdas ji are still guiding the society. He unleashed a stream of Nirgun Bhakti that successfully broke down societal contradictions and explained the relationship between the soul and the Supreme Being in simple terms to the common people.
Chief Minister said that the couplet “Guru Govind dono khade kaake lagun paon…” still reminds us of the importance of a Guru.
Yogi Adityanath said that the words of saints are as relevant today as they were hundreds of years ago. He said that Kabirdas ji, in his era, criticized the caste disparities in society, saying, “Jaati Paati Puchhe Na Koi, Hari ka Bhaje to Hari ka Hoyi.” This saying is the foundation of our society’s unity and integrity.
Chief Minister said that under the double-engine government, work is being done to restore and beautify the state’s religious sites. Previously, this money was used to build boundary walls for graveyards. Previous governments renamed Ayodhya as Faizabad, Prayagraj as Allahabad, and Kabirdham as Mustafabad. Chief Minister said that there is a need to be vigilant against forces that break the unity of the country. Even today, anti-social forces are trying to attack faith and create divisions in the name of caste.
He said that if we do not recognize our weaknesses in time, these diseases will erode society like cancer. Yogi said that patriotism is the solution to all problems. He said, “Mata Bhoomi Putroham…” This land is not just a piece of soil, it is our motherland and fatherland. Serving this land is true worship.
He said that a new wave of development is flowing even in border districts like Lakhimpur Kheri. Roads and medical colleges are being built here, along with the expansion of the airport. Eco-tourism is being promoted.
Chief Minister explained that the restoration of religious sites like Gola Gokaran Nath Dham and Kabirdham is strengthening both faith and tourism.
The Chief Minister praised the work of Saint Asangdev Maharaj, saying that he is doing wonderful work for religion, drug de-addiction, and national consciousness.
Speaking on drug de-addiction, he said that drug addiction is the cause of destruction. Foreign powers are conspiring to destroy our youth. He stressed on limiting phone use and focusing on self-development. Chief Minister Yogi also emphasized cow service and natural farming.
He said that the government is giving Rs 1500 per month for every cow. To protect the cow, public representatives should look after cow shelters. Chemical farming is making the land barren. Therefore, adopt natural farming.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi performed the Bhoomi Pujan of Sadguru Kabir Asangdev Dharamshala. On this occasion, Asang Dev Maharaj, state government ministers Rakesh Sachan, Nitin Agarwal, Mannulal Kori, MLAs Aman Giri, Romi Sahni, Lokendra Pratap Singh, Shashank Verma, Yogesh Verma, Vinod Shankar Awasthi, Manju Tyagi, Saurabh Singh Sonu, Mahamandaleshwar Pravaktananda, along with a large number of devotees and saints were present.
