New Delhi, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Croatia on Wednesday in the last leg of his three-nation visit. This will open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interests as the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia.
The Prime Minister is on a visit to Cyprus, Canada and Croatia from June 15-19. In the last leg of this tour, at the invitation of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, the Prime Minister has reached Croatia on an official visit on June 18.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in an ex post, “It proved to be a historic milestone in India-Croatia relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Zagreb, Croatia. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia. As a special honour, Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic gave him a ceremonial welcome at the airport.”
Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and meet President Zoran Milanovic. This visit to Croatia will also underline India’s commitment to further strengthen relations with partners in the European Union.
