Mirzapur, October 11: The Unknown thieves stole jewellery and valuables worth lakhs of rupees from the house of a BJP leader in Rannopatti village, Jigna police station area, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The incident caused a outrage in the area.

According to information, Rannopatti resident Sujit Modanwal, president of the BJP Chanbe Mandal, lives with his family in a two-storey house on the Mirzapur-Prayagraj road. Last night, thieves entered the house from the backyard and broke the lock of a room on the second floor. They fled with gold and silver jewellery and other valuables kept under clothes in a trunk.

When the family members saw the broken lock of the room in the morning, they were shocked. The room was in disarray and the belongings were scattered. The homeowner revealed that jewelry worth 2.5 to 3 lakh rupees was stolen from his home during a wedding ceremony on December 12, 2023, a theft that remains unsolved.

Upon learning of the incident, station in-charge Sanjay Singh arrived at the scene with a police team and began an investigation.

He stated that the theft is being investigated and the case will be solved soon. Villagers are discussing the possibility of a theft at a BJP leader’s home, located just one kilometer from the police station, raising questions about security.
