Massive fire erupts at Jaunpur hotel, blaze contained, no casualties

Jaunpur, March 5: A fire broke out at Utsav Motel in Jaunpurโ€™s Wazidpur intersection on Thursday morning, causing panic with heavy smoke, but firefighters swiftly controlled the blaze and no casualties were reported

The fire was so intense that flames and smoke reached the gym on the third floor of the building. Hotel owner Ashutosh Singh attributed the fire to a short circuit.

Upon receiving information about the incident, three large fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene. Firefighters acted swiftly and brought the fire under control. The employees working inside the hotel were safely evacuated. Some women working out on the third floor of the gym were also safely evacuated by the rescue team. Seeing the severity of the fire, the owners of nearby buildings immediately cut off the power supply to their establishments as a precaution.

Eyewitness Gayatri Prasad Yadav, a constable in the police department, said that he was taking a walk around 8 a.m. He saw smoke coming from the hotel and rushed to the scene to find a massive fire. Pieces of glass were melting and falling from the upper floors. It was difficult to retrieve the filled cylinders and other items stored in the warehouse. The filled cylinders were removed first, averting a major disaster. The women working out on the third floor were immediately evacuated. fortunately, there were no casualties.

The CFO R.P. Rai stated that the fire was reported at 8 a.m. The fire team arrived on the scene immediately and brought the fire under control. Smoke had penetrated the lower floors of the hotel and reached the gym building. Everyone is safe and there were no casualties. The fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
