New Delhi, November 12: Between May and November this year, security agencies took decisive action against terrorism in various parts of the country. During these six months, coordinated operations were conducted in at least 14 states, in which approximately 60 terrorists and their associates were arrested, and three terrorists were killed.

According to sources, security agencies have busted terrorist modules active in several states. During the operations, more than 3,000 kilograms of explosive material, several AK-56 rifles, pistols, grenades, detonators, digital communication equipment, and incriminating digital documents were recovered. Several suspects have been arrested, including doctors, clerics, and technical experts. Security agencies have described this as the most comprehensive operation against terrorism in recent years.

Sources stated that the operation was carried out in the Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam.

According to sources, the largest seizure occurred in Faridabad, Haryana, where 2,563 kilograms of explosives and detonators were seized. In this operation, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana police uncovered a white-collar terrorist network linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.

According to sources, in October, an ISIS-inspired “Saut-ul-Ummah” module was dismantled in Delhi, resulting in the arrest of two terrorists who were found to be in possession of IED manufacturing materials and timer devices. Meanwhile, cleric Osama Umar, associated with the TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan), was arrested in Jalore, Rajasthan.

In November, the Gujarat ATS uncovered a Pakistani drone connection, arresting three individuals who were importing weapons and documents from Pakistan.

According to sources, these operations, coordinated between the NIA and state police, have yielded new information related to foreign funding, online radicalization, and drone supply networks.
