Lucknow, 07 May: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation, which gives the message of clean Lucknow, beautiful Lucknow, removed encroachment including handcarts, kiosks from Swasthya Bhawan Marg around 10 am on Wednesday.
The Municipal Corporation also overturned some kiosks with the bulldozer. At the same time, some handcart shopkeepers were seen running away with their carts. Baati Chokha shopkeepers did not even open the shutter of their shop vehicle and took it inside the street and parked it. The kiosk shopkeepers also immediately removed the promotional material kept on the road.
Seeing the action of Lucknow Municipal Corporation, the shopkeepers said that they set up handcarts every morning. They are running their lives by selling food items of people’s choice. The Municipal Corporation has declared the road of Begum Hazrat Mahal Park next to Parivartan Chauraha as a vending zone, whether its limit is up to Swasthya Bhawan or not. If the limit is not up to Swasthya Bhawan, then the limit of the vending zone should be extended till Swasthya Bhawan intersection. So that small roadside shopkeepers can take care of their families.
Regarding the encroachment removal action taken under zone one of the Municipal Corporation, the employees of the Municipal Corporation said that the advocates had complained about encroachment and the setting up of carts and stalls on the roads near the court. On the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner, the carts and stalls were removed in the morning and a warning was also given not to encroach again. Shops selling Baati Chokha, Veg Biryani, Puri Sabzi, and Tea have been set up on this road. At the same time, retail shopkeepers have also been keeping their milk and curd boxes on the road.
