Patna, 5 September: As the Bihar Assembly elections are drawing near, political rhetoric has intensified. Politicians are taking one another to task. In this episode, on Friday, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) National President Lalu Yadav took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
RJD President Lalu Yadav wrote on Instagram, “Hey Modiji, you want victory in Bihar and will gift factories to Gujarat, This Gujarati formula won’t work in Bihar.”
His statement is regarding the Prime Minister’s efforts to set up industries in Gujarat and only get electoral victory from Bihar. He indicated that Bihar should stop being considered only a vote bank.
Lalu Yadav also raised the question that why Gujarat is being given preference while ignoring development in Bihar? He says that despite getting power from Bihar, the state has been left behind in terms of investment, industry and employment.
Reacting to the Bihar bandh called by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in protest against the objectionable remarks made about the Prime Minister and his late mother, the RJD chief said, “Has Prime Minister Modi ordered the people of BJP to abuse the mothers, sisters and daughters of entire Bihar and Biharis? Gujaratis should not take Biharis lightly. This is Bihar.”
He said that during the Bihar bandh on Thursday, BJP workers misbehaved with women, teachers, girl students, pregnant women, elderly and journalists, which is completely unacceptable. Bihar needs respect, not attention only during elections.
