Tianjin (China), August 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, had an important bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday. It started at 9:30 am according to Indian time.

Prime Minister Modi has uploaded his statement in this meeting on social media. During the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, we had a very meaningful discussion in Kazan last year. Our relations have got a positive direction. An atmosphere of peace and stability has been created after disengagement on the border.
He said, ‘Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has started again. Direct flight service between the two countries has also been restarted. The interests of 2.8 billion people of both the countries are linked with our cooperation. This will also pave the way for the welfare of the entire humanity. We are committed to taking our relations forward on the basis of mutual trust, respect and sensitivity. I congratulate China for its successful chairmanship of the SCO.’
After meeting Modi, Jinping said, it is very important for the dragon and elephant to come together
On the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit being held in Tianjin, China, bilateral talks were held between India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and China’s President Xi Jinping on Sunday. During this, in his initial address, President Jinping spoke about the need for friendship between the two countries.
According to South China Morning Post, the meeting between the leaders of the two countries, which started at 9.30 am on Sunday (Indian time), lasted for 40 minutes. During this, Jinping said that `China and India are the two most ancient civilisations of the world. Both are the most populous countries of the world and are a part of the Global South. It is very important to remain friends, to be good neighbours, for the dragon and the elephant to come together.”
Earlier, in his opening address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Last year we had a very meaningful discussion in Kazan. Our relations have got a positive direction.
