Kanpur, May 23: District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh conducted a surprise inspection of Kashiram Trauma Centre located at Ramadevi on Friday. There are about 200 medical staff in the hospital including doctors and employees, out of which 64 employees were found missing from duty. Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) also did not reach the hospital till 9 am whereas his time is from 8 am to 2 pm.

During the inspection, many irregularities were found in the hospital. Taking action against all of them, one day’s salary has been stopped.

The District Magistrate told the journalists that 64 employees and doctors were found off duty during the surprise inspection of Kanshi Ram Hospital this morning. Doctors and employees had marked their duty and attendance in the attendance register at their own will. The CMS was also not present in the hospital at the scheduled time. Due to summer, patients were standing in long queues outside the outpatient department (OPD) since morning for health checkup. The biggest thing is that there is no arrangement of drinking water in the hospital premises. For this, the officials have been reprimanded and instructed to make arrangements for water.

He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to provide better health services to the general public as per the priority of the government. Everyone should perform their duties honestly. But the doctors and employees posted here are doing their own arbitrariness, the brunt of which is being borne by the patients and their attendants. Strict action will be taken against those who are negligent.

After this, the District Magistrate also inspected the Urban Primary Health Center (PHC) Krishna Nagar. Here also, out of the eight medical staff, only one doctor Nisha Gandhi was found present on the spot as per the scheduled time. She too had entered the entries of six patients in the register in a fraudulent manner. Correspondence will be made to the government for action against her.
