Released on September 19, the courtroom drama movie ‘Jolly LLB 3′ had a strong opening at the box office. However, on the fourth day, i.e. Monday, the film’s earnings suddenly declined drastically. Monday is often considered a crucial test for any film, and this time, the Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi starrer lagged behind. This sharp decline in collections has now increased the makers’ concerns.
‘Jolly LLB 3’ had a strong opening at the box office. On the first day, the film earned ₹12.5 crore, while on the second day, its pace increased and collections reached ₹20 crore. The film also showed strength on the third day, collecting ₹21 crore. However, on the fourth day, i.e. Monday, the film’s earnings registered a sharp decline. It managed to earn only ₹5.5 crore (US$1.5 million), its biggest dip to date. With this, the film’s domestic total has reached ₹59 crore (US$1.5 million).
The first “Jolly LLB” starred Arshad Warsi in the lead role, while “Jolly LLB 2” starred Akshay Kumar. Now, in the third installment of the franchise, “Jolly LLB 3,” audiences see both Jollys together, while Saurabh Shukla returns to his iconic role. Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao also reprise their roles from previous films. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film is inspired by a real-life incident that occurred in Bhatta Parsaul village in Uttar Pradesh in 2011, and has been fictionalized.
