Jhanvi Kapoor hits hat-trick in flop films category list of 2025

Varun Dhawan and Jhanvi Kapoor starrer ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ has been struggling since it was released at the box office. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film was released in theatres on October 2. Surprisingly, in just one week, the business of the film has registered a huge decline. Made in a budget of around Rs 80 crore, the film has not even been able to recover its cost till now.

According to the report of Sacnilk, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ did a business of Rs 2.25 crore on the seventh day of its release. Previously, the film earned ₹3.25 crore on the sixth day, ₹3.25 crore on the fifth day, ₹7.75 crore on the fourth day, ₹7.5 crore on the third day, ₹5.5 crore on the second day, and ₹9.25 crore on the first day. This brings the film’s total box office collection to ₹38.75 crore.

However, the budget for “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” is reportedly ₹80 crore. The film will still need to work harder to recover its budget.

This year, Jhanvi Kapoor starred in three films in less than two months. These included Param Sundari Homebound and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Interestingly, all these movies have been bombed at the box office. Recent release Karan Johar’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ met the same fate at the theaters.

Produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions banner, the film stars Varun and Janhvi in ​​pivotal roles, along with Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Manish Paul. The film’s story revolves around love and betrayal, with a strong dose of comedy. The film’s songs are also well-received by audiences, especially Khesari Lal Yadav’s “Panwadi” and Sonu Nigam’s “Bijuria,” which have become quite popular on social media.
