Ranveer Singh Akshaye Khanna’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ is performing well at the box office. Even after 15 days of its release, the film’s earning momentum is not slowing down and it is creating new records. James Cameron’s much awaited film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ was released in theatres on December 19. It was believed that the entry of this Hollywood big budget film would affect the earnings of ‘Dhurandhar’, but that did not happen at all.
‘Avatar 3’ did not affect ‘Dhurandhar’
‘Dhurandhar’ is holding strong at the box office even on the 15 day and is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark across the country this weekend.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹22.50 crore on the 15th day, compared to ₹23.25 crore on the 14th day. Clearly, the release of “Avatar: Fire and Ashes” had no significant impact on “Dhurandhar.” Surprisingly, “Avatar 3” failed to earn as much on its opening day in India as “Dhurandhar” did on its 15th day.
“Avatar: Fire and Ashes” grossed approximately ₹20 crore on its opening day in India. Made on a hefty budget of approximately ₹3,600 crore, this film was expected to have a big opening, especially considering both previous films in the “Avatar” franchise have already grossed thousands of crores. Despite this, audiences still seem to be more inclined towards “Dhurandhar.”
‘Dhurandhar’ eyes 1,000 crore rupees.
‘Dhurandhar’s’ tremendous earnings have further strengthened hopes of breaking the 1,000 crore club. In just 15 days, the film has broken several major records and become the highest-grossing film of Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar’s career. ‘Dhurandhar’ has grossed approximately ₹737.5 crore worldwide so far, and now its next target is to cross the ₹1,000 crore mark.
Box office performance of other films:
Sanjay Mishra and Mahima Chaudhary’s comedy film ‘Durlabh Prasad Ki Doosri Shaadi,’ released on December 19th, received very limited shows compared to ‘Dhurandhar’. The film earned only ₹6 lakh on its first day. Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2’ has so far earned a total of ₹11 crore. Made on a budget of ₹35 crore, this film’s business is also clearly affected by ‘Dhurandhar’.
