Jaipur hit & run case: 3 dead, many injured, accused ex Congress neta Usman Khan held

Jaipur, 8 April: Three people have died so far in the Jaipur hit and run case. After this, the angry mob created a ruckus on the Jaipur streets. A large number of people gheroed the Nahargarh police station on Tuesday. People closed the Gangauri market and nearby markets. Angry people protested at Choti Chaupar, tires were burnt at many places.

Top officials of police and administration are on high alert after the incident. Jaipur police registered a case of unintentional murder against car driver Usman Khan and arrested him. After this, the Congress party also removed Usman Khan from the post of district vice president and suspended him from the party.

In this accident that happened on Monday night, Mamta Kanwar (50), resident of Nahargarh Road, and Awadhesh Pareek (37), resident of Laldas Ka Khara, died. On Tuesday morning, Virendra Singh (48), resident of Shastri Nagar, died.

after the news of killing of three people in hit and run incident spread hook and corner, people’s exasperation erupted on Tuesday morning. The relatives of the deceased and the local people sat on a dharna in front of Nahargarh police station and started demanding compensation of Rs 50 lakh and a government job for one person from each victim’s family.

BJP MLA from Hawa Mahal seat Balmukund Acharya also sat on a dharna with them.

He said that the BJP and the government are with the victim’s family. Many workers of BJP and Yuva Morcha also participated in the protest. A large number of angry people have surrounded the Nahargarh police station. People have closed Gangauri Bazaar and nearby markets. Heavy police force has been deployed in the markets. The force of all the nearby police stations has also been deployed for security arrangements.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Bajrang Singh Shekhawat said that the SUV was being driven by Usman Khan (62), a resident of Rana Colony in Shastri Nagar. He was drunk at the time of the incident. He lost control over the SUV and the vehicle ran over everything that came in its way for about 500 meters near the Nahargarh police station. The driver first hit a scooty-bike near the Santoshi Mata temple and then crushed people who fell on the road. The car also hit vehicles parked outside the police station. Police and locals stopped the car when it got stuck in a narrow lane about a kilometer away from the main accident site. The car driver was taken into custody on the spot.

Those injured in the accident include Virendra Singh (48), Mamta Kanwar (50), Monesh Soni (28), Mohammad Jalaluddin (44), Deepika Saini (17), Vijay Narayan (65), Zebunnisa (50), Anshika (24) and Awadhesh Pareek (37). Of these, three people have died, while all the others are undergoing treatment at Sawai Man Singh Hospital.

Police said that Congress district vice-president Usman Khan is the owner of an iron bed manufacturing factory in Vishwakarma Industrial Area.
