High-level security meeting: PM Modi gives leeway to the Indian Army for decisive action against terrorism

New Delhi, April 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an emergency security meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and the chiefs of the three armies in the capital on Tuesday evening. This important meeting is being seen as a decisive turning point in India’s strategy against cross-border terrorism.

According to sources, in the meeting, Prime Minister Modi clearly said that a resolution has been taken to crush terrorism at the national level.

Expressing full confidence in the capability of the Indian Armed Forces, he said that the army has complete operational freedom to decide the method, target and time of action.

In the meeting that lasted for about one and a half hours, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the chiefs of the three armies informed the Prime Minister about the current situation and discussed various military options.

It is noteworthy that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message while addressing a public meeting in Madhubani, Bihar.

He had described the attack as an assault on the soul of India and said India would pursue terrorists and their supporters “to the ends of the earth” and punish them “beyond imagination”.
