Four killed, one seriously injured in Moradabad road accident

Moradabad, March 16: The four friends lost their lives and another was critically injured in a road accident on the Delhi-Lucknow highway near Mundha Pande, Moradabad, early Monday morning; police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and launched an investigation, police informed.

The Superintendent of Police (SP) City Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that the accident occurred near Mankara turn at 6 am on Monday when a car going from Rampur to Delhi went out of control and hit the rear of a tractor-trolley loaded with bricks. The collision was so severe that the car was completely destroyed and all the passengers were trapped inside. On receiving the information, the police station reached the spot and after a lot of effort, rescued the people trapped in the car. All were taken to the Community Health Center in Mundha Pande for treatment, but doctors declared four young men dead, while one was referred to the district hospital due to his critical condition.

The Superintendent of Police, City, stated that the young men who died in the accident have been identified as Dayal Singh Rawat (58), a resident of Nainital in Uttarakhand, Sundar Singh (35) of Haldwani, Bhuvan Bhandari (38) of Almora, and Anil Negi of Haldwani. The car driver, Yashdeep Pandey, was injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The tractor trolley driver fled the scene. Police removed both damaged vehicles from the road and restored traffic. Police are investigating the matter.

According to information, the five young men worked for a private company in Delhi and were returning to Delhi after attending a wedding ceremony in Haldwani.
