Raipur, 31 August: The First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, against West Bengal’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra for making ‘objectionable’ remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The MP had given this statement in a program organized in Nadia district of West Bengal a few days ago.

Gopal Samonto, a resident of Mohaba Bazaar, Kota, on Saturday lodged a complaint against TMC MP Mahua Moitra with the Raipur Police.

In the complaint given in the name of the Superintendent of Police, it was said that after hearing MP Mahua Moitra talk of slitting the throat of the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah and placing it on the table, I am not only hurt but also scared and terrified, this is the first time that an MP has made such a statement against the country’s Home Minister. This is a warning to all peace-loving citizens that whoever talks about Bangladeshi infiltration will have to pay the price of his life.

In the application, he said that he himself comes from the Bang community and is proud of the fact that our community has made a special contribution in the country’s freedom struggle, art, literature and science, etc., due to which our community has been receiving special love and respect in the whole country. There is a fear that Mahua Moitra’s statement will create hatred among the people towards the Bang community and in the future, criminal incidents against the people of the Bang community may also increase. Therefore, such people should be immediately brought before the law of the country and they should also be stopped from putting the lives of millions of people at stake for their own politics.

Gopal Samant said that this is an open challenge to the Constitution of the country, where a democratically elected MP is talking about damaging the federal structure of the country. Along with this, investigate the statement of MP Mahua Moitra and register a crime under sections 196, 197, 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other available sections of the law for conspiracy to intimidate and damage the federal structure of the country.

In this regard, police officials said on Sunday that, based on the complaint of a local resident, a case was registered against West Bengal Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra at Mana police station on Saturday under section 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, place of birth, residence, language etc.) and section 197 (allegations, claims harming national unity) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
