Nagpur, August 22: The former President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest at the “Vijayadashmi” festival of the Sangh to be held on October 12 at Reshimbagh ground in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This information was given by the publicity department of the Sangh on Friday.

The publicity department of the Sangh told that the festival of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) is considered very important for the RSS as a symbol of victory of truth over untruth and worship of power. Not only this, on this auspicious occasion in the year 1925, Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Nagpur. Therefore, this day is not only a religious festival for the Sangh but also its foundation day, which the Sangh celebrates with great enthusiasm every year.

The Publicity Department said that on this occasion, the Sarsanghchalak of the Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, will give his address on contemporary issues related to the country and society. Special importance is being given to the presence of former President Ram Nath Kovind in this celebration program of the Sangh, because he has served in the highest constitutional post of the country. It is a matter of pride that he has been invited as the chief guest on the stage of the Sangh.

In this program, thousands of volunteers will demonstrate the branch system of the Sangh in traditional uniform. Along with this, cultural programs depicting the ideas of the Sangh will also be presented.

In this context, the Publicity Department of the Sangh said, “It is a matter of pride for us to have a dignified personality like the former President of the country participating in this program. We believe that this event will strengthen the national consciousness further.” Ram Nath Kovind will be the second former President to appear on the stage of the Sangh in the last few years. Earlier, in 2018, former President Pranab Mukherjee also participated in a program of the Sangh.
