Emergency services to be on the alert in govt hospitals in Lucknow

Lucknow, October 19: In view of the Diwali festival, an alert has been issued in government hospitals in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Special doctors have been assigned to all hospitals for three days. On-call doctors have also been asked to remain on duty. Furthermore, 108 and 102 ambulance services will be available 24 hours a day for three days during Diwali.

Dr Premraj Singh, in-charge of the KGMU Trauma Center, stated on Sunday that adequate arrangements have been made for the treatment of those injured by firecrackers during Diwali. Separate beds have been reserved for Diwali.

Dr Devashish Shukla, Medical Superintendent of Balrampur Hospital, told that Balrampur Hospital is located in the heart of the city and receives the highest number of patients. Therefore, 50 beds have been reserved in the emergency department. Apart from this, beds have been reserved for children in the Pediatric ICU ward, PICU and Pediatric Emergency.

Dr Manish Shukla, Medical Superintendent of Bhaurao Deoras Combined Hospital, said that additional doctors have been deployed in the hospital. Specialist doctors will also be available on call.

Lucknow’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr N.B. Singh, has directed to reserve beds at Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres and keep adequate medicines for emergency.ย
