Firozabad, February 25: A double-decker bus traveling from Lucknow to Delhi collided with a divider and overturned on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Nasirpur police station on Wednesday morning, leaving 12 passengers injured and rushed to hospital for treatment.
The Inspector in-charge Gyanendra Singh Solanki said that the accident occurred between kilometer number 55-56 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway under the jurisdiction of the Nasirpur police station. The double-decker bus going from Lucknow to New Delhi lost control and overturned after hitting a divider. Seeing the accident, a crowd of people gathered. On receiving information, the police and UPDA team also reached the spot. There were about 45 passengers on the bus. About 11-12 passengers were injured in the accident. With the help of police and relief teams, all the injured were taken to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Shikohabad. The bus was moved to the side of the road and traffic was restored. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The SHO apprised that the injured in the accident are Mohammad Sartar, son of Mohammad Naeem, resident of Gosainganj, Kasimpur police station, Hardoi district; Praduman Bajpai, son of Balram Bajpai, resident of Lucknow; Damini Verma, resident of Lucknow; Divansh, son of Sandeep, resident of Lucknow; Devendra, son of Gurmeet, resident of Punjab; Sudhir pal, son of Ramdhan Pal, resident of Punjab; Ganga, son of Ram Sharanpal; Krishna Kumar, son of Banwarilal, resident of Pratapgarh; Shivam Gupta, son of Krishna Kumar, resident of Pratapgarh; Dhirendra Pratap, son of Ramdev, resident of house number 57, Alok Nagar, Lucknow; Sweta, daughter of Parasnath, resident of Vamanesh Colony, Mahanagar, Lucknow; and Piyush Mishra, son of Brij Bhushan Mishra, resident of Pratapgarh.
The station in-charge stated that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
