Siddharthnagar, January 28: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the five-day Siddharthnagar Mahotsav on Wednesday. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 229 projects worth โ‚น1,052 crore.

The Chief Minister said that we have advanced development work by considering the 25 crore population as family. People with a sick mindset had made this region sick, but with determination we have eradicated the disease. Now we have also moved from a riotous state to a festive state.

Praising the Saraswati Vandana performed by the teachers of the Basic Education Council, the Chief Minister said that when such values โ€‹โ€‹are inculcated in children, they will become carriers of the concept of a developed India. On this occasion, two women entrepreneurs who achieved success with the help of government schemes shared their stories with the Chief Minister on stage.

The government is providing funds without discrimination, and schemes are being implemented through the proposals and efforts of public representatives.

CM Yogi said that schemes are being implemented in the district through the proposals and efforts of public representatives. The government is merely an instrument; we provide funds without discrimination. We have promoted the development campaign by treating the 25 crore population as our family. The CM thanked and expressed gratitude to Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey and SP MLA Syeda Khatoon for attending the event.

The Chief Minister said that life is not for despair and hopelessness, but for enthusiasm and working together to advance the development campaign. There should be no cutting and chopping everywhere. Efforts should begin with positive thinking.

CM Yogi said that the government cannot achieve development by dividing. There should be no discrimination based on caste, creed, region, or language, but rather work should be done with a spirit of inclusiveness and sustainable development. Efforts made with a view to sustainable development are the embodiment of the concept of Ramrajya. Development should be based on every section of society: villages, the poor, farmers, and youth. Without discrimination, every poor person should receive the benefits of rations, toilets, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme), and the Ayushman Card. Government schemes are designed with a focus on the poor, women, youth, and farmers. We provided citizens with the benefits of poverty-relief schemes based on “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” The CM also highlighted the benefits of the “Vikasit Bharat Ji Ram Ji” scheme.

CM Yogi said that 8-10 years ago, no one imagined a medical college would exist here, but today, Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College has been built. A nursing college has also opened. The foundation stone for a women’s hostel has been laid. Construction of a 1,000-seat auditorium has also been advanced with CSR funds. Siddharthnagar was an aspirational district because it lacked infrastructure and development, but rather an escape from disease. People with a sick mindset had made eastern Uttar Pradesh sick and left it vulnerable to the mosquito mafia.

Yogi stated that children from poor, Dalit, minority, and extremely backward castes died from encephalitis. These children were not a caste for us, but a trust of Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, inspired by PM Modi, the state government resolved in 2017 that not a single child would be affected by encephalitis. The double-engine government’s dedicated efforts eradicated a decades-old disease in no time. Today, no child dies from this disease. For us, it is not a vote bank, but a part of our family. The government’s duty was to protect children, and we fulfilled that responsibility.

CM Yogi said that 125 years ago, the relics of Lord Buddha were transported from Piprahwa to England. They were being auctioned in Taiwan. The MP made efforts, and we wrote a letter. Now the government is building a Vipassana center in Kapilvastu. Dormitories and other development work are underway there. Nepal, adjacent to Siddharthnagar, is our friendly nation. Our connectivity was rough, but we converted interstate and international connectivity to four-lane roads. We are also expanding Siddharthnagar’s connectivity with four-lane roads. The railway line from Khalilabad to Bahraich, 80 kilometers of which passes through Siddharthnagar district, will attract investment. The Gorakhpur-Shamli Economic Corridor is going to become a corridor of development, touching three assembly constituencies of the district (Itwa, Dumariyaganj, and Banshi).

CM Yogi said that the word Mahotsav itself carries with it vastness. The best creation of God, ‘man’, always has a sense of human dignity, security and sovereignty in his mind. The best creation inspires us to think good, do good and take initiative in a positive direction. This will also yield good results. This district was named after Prince Siddhartha. It was his kingdom, Kapilvastu was his capital. He set out in search of knowledge and the truth of life. He left everything, went to Gayaji, did long meditation. He attained enlightenment, gave his first sermon in Sarnath. He completed the maximum Chaturmas in Shravasti. Thework of the government is not a favor, but a duty.

The CM mentioned the festival’s theme song, “Buddham Sharanam Gachhami,” and said that seeking refuge in religion requires wisdom and discretion. If power falls into the hands of demons, it will lead to destruction; if it falls into the hands of gods, it will bring positive energy and change in people’s lives. The double-engine government is doing the same in your life. Any government’s work is not a favor, but a responsibility and duty. The power bestowed by the people must be used without discrimination for the benefit of the people. When intentions are good, the ruler also supports.

The CM called the women who shared their success stories exemplary examples of women entrepreneurship.

CM Yogi, referring to the success and self-reliance of the two women entrepreneurs on stage, called them exemplary examples of women entrepreneurship. The CM praised Siddharth Nagar’s efforts in the ODOP and Matsya Sampada Yojana. He said, “There are two and a half to three thousand year old ponds, and these ponds need to be renovated.”

CM Yogi said that before the festival, there should be competitions at the local level (Gram Panchayat, Nyaya Panchayat, Ward, Kshetra Panchayat, Tehsil, and Assembly levels). The best performers should be given a platform and rewarded in the main festival. Artists, progressive farmers, athletes, innovative youth, laborers, and women entrepreneurs, along with other innovators, should be included in this program.

The CM explained the benefits to farmers here. He said that in May last year, he visited central Uttar Pradesh, where farmers were preparing a third crop of maize after two harvests. Farmers from Auraiya, Etah, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, and Hardoi reported that the third crop was generating an additional income of โ‚น1 lakh per acre.

The CM told local farmers that they would receive MSP on their crops, but value addition would yield multiple benefits. They should bring forward proposals for food processing, as the government is providing subsidies.

CM Yogi expressed grief over the passing of Ajit Pawar
