Deoria kidnap case: Girls found safe in Surat, families to reunite

Deoria, March 12: The Deoria police safely recovered the two kidnapped girls from Surat’s Dindoli police station area on Thursday, and they will now be handed over to their families, police informed.

The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) North Anand Kumar Pandey said that on March 6, 2026, the woman had told in the complaint given at Gauri Bazar police station that her sister’s daughter had come to her house on March 3 on the occasion of Holi festival. On March 5, at around 5 in the morning, her and her sister’s daughter went away from the house with some unknown person. On this information, the police registered a case and started investigation.

A team led by the SHO Mahendra Kumar intensified the search for the two kidnapped girls in connection with a case registered at Gauri Bazar police station under Section 137(2) of the BNS, and with the help of witnesses, recovered them from Surat’s Dindoli police station area; the girls were brought back safely as further legal action began.
