New Delhi, November 10: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹ 2.4 lakh. The accused has been identified as ASI Patil Kumar of Jyoti Nagar police station in Delhi.
According to the CBI, the complainant had alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from him to make the property investigation report related to a case pending in Karkardooma Court favorable. The accused had threatened to file an adverse report against the complainant if the bribe was not paid. Following the complaint, the CBI registered a case on Sunday and laid a trap.
As per the CBI, the accused was subsequently caught red-handed while accepting the first installment of the bribe of Rs 2.4 lakh. The accused has been arrested and the investigation is underway.
