CM Yogi inaugurates ‘Namo Marathon’ for a drug-free India

Lucknow, September 21: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the “Namo Marathon” from the Chief Minister’s residence at 5 Kalidas Marg on Sunday.

On this occasion, he also called on the youth to move forward towards the resolution of a drug-free India. A large number of youth participated in the marathon. The Namo Marathon started from Kalidas Marg and ended at 1090 intersection.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is celebrating the “Seva Pakhwada” across the country from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to October 2, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated this Seva Pakhwada from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, with the theme “Healthy Women, Empowered Society.” The Prime Minister clearly believes that if women are healthy, families will be empowered, society will be empowered, and the nation will also become empowered.

Yogi added that based on this vision, the Seva Pakhwada program is setting new benchmarks across the country. On this occasion, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers organized blood donation camps in every district, elevating the program to new heights. Along with blood donation, BJP workers also accelerated cleanliness campaigns across the country. Through health camps and cleanliness programs, Seva Pakhwada is being furthered by linking it with the concept of a “developed India.”

CM Yogi , who is participating in the Namo Marathon as part of the Yuva Shakti Seva Pakhwada, said that on the occasion of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the Prime Minister had called upon the countrymen to take a pledge for a “developed India” and move forward with the five vows.

He stated that the vestiges of slavery must be eliminated, one must respect one’s heritage, one must respect the army and uniformed forces, one must work for social equality, and one must honestly discharge one’s civic duties. These five vows will enable Indians to embark on the journey towards a developed India.

He said that with this inspiration from the Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh decided to advance the “Developed India – Developed Uttar Pradesh” campaign. The campaign is receiving immense support from youth, farmers, workers, businessmen, and intellectuals in the state. Everyone is willing to contribute in their field.

Describing self-reliance as the key to development, he said that a self-reliant society is built from a healthy one, and events like the “NaMo Marathon” provide a new direction to society. After 2014, the Prime Minister accelerated several campaigns related to health and youth welfare in the country. World Yoga Day received international recognition. Campaigns like “Khelo India,” “Fit India Movement,” and “Parliamentarian Sports Competitions” inspired youth. Additionally, “Mission Rozgar” ensured opportunities for youth. Today, this same youth force is joining the “NaMo Marathon” as part of the Service Fortnight. A

Addressing the youth, the Chief Minister said that youth power symbolizes immense energy. If it moves in a positive direction, it will prove beneficial for the nation, but if it turns to drugs, its downfall is certain. The “NaMo Marathon” is also urging youth to abstain from addiction. Continuous programs are being organized from September 17 to October 2. Special events will be held on September 25, the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and on October 2, the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. In this series, the NaMo Marathon is being organized, in which Yuva Morcha workers and students are actively participating. Coincidentally, October 2nd also falls on Vijayadashami. This occasion will symbolize eliminating evils and moving towards a strong and capable India. He urged the youth to participate in the program with discipline and decency, stating that discipline is a youth’s greatest strength.
