Lucknow, December 28: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Sunday, at the closing ceremony of the second day of the “Police Manthan” Senior Police Officers Conference-2025, directed officials to strengthen law and order in the state.

He instructed senior police officers to maintain strict vigilance, especially on social media and cybercrime. He urged them to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against those who influence law and order, caste and religious harmony on social media.

He directed the technical strengthening of border security and counter-terrorism systems to curb the increasing terrorist activities and drug trafficking from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal in the state. He also called for strict action against organized gangs operating for cow smuggling and religious conversion.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep concern over challenges such as social media misuse, disinformation, deepfakes, the dark web, cybercrime, and terrorist networks.

He asked for the immediate action against any objectionable content on social media that impacts law and order, ethnic and religious harmony.

Chief Minister clarified that no leniency should be shown to those who divide society on the basis of caste or religion, exert pressure on the police, or spread anarchy. Such posts, fake accounts, and organized propaganda campaigns should be identified and strict legal action should be taken against them.

He stated that some anti-social elements are attempting to spread anarchy by creating new organizations and misusing the names of prominent figures. He directed the police to thoroughly investigate the background of such organizations, dismantle their networks, and ensure strict action within the ambit of the law.

Special vigilance on incidents of religious conversion

Chief Minister Yogi directed the police and intelligence to maintain constant surveillance on activities related to religious conversion, strengthen intelligence through social media, and effectively prevent any such incident at the initial stage. Praising the police’s work so far, he said that in the current scenario, there is a need to make intelligence, local inputs, and technical surveillance more active and effective. To maintain peace, harmony, and law and order in the state, every activity on social media should be closely monitored and timely action should be ensured.

Instructions to technically strengthen border security and anti-terrorism mechanisms

Chief Minister, conducting a thorough analysis of the new dimensions of terrorist activities emanating from the international borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, emphasized the need to further strengthen border surveillance.

He directed the effective use of artificial intelligence, financial trails, technical analysis, and modern resources to prevent the “international funded conversion racket.”

Continued strict action against drug trafficking and organized crime

Chief Minister Yogi praised the strict action taken by the police so far against terrorism, drug trafficking, and organized crime in the state.

He stated that this action needs to be made more effective and decisive. To this end, he directed departmental coordination and real-time information sharing between security agencies to ensure prompt action and break the morale of criminal networks.

Strategy to attack cow smuggling and masterminds of criminal networks

Yogi clarified that in cow smuggling cases, mere quick arrests are not enough; rather, the entire network and its masterminds must be identified and strict action taken against them. This will send a strong message against such organized crime in the state and ensure an effective stop to cow smuggling and related crimes.

Chief Minister praised the police action in such cases in the state.
