CBI nabs Kendriya Vidyalaya official taking a bribe of ₹ 60K

New Delhi, December 26: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested a senior official of Kendriya Vidyalaya, BNP, located in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹ 60,000.

According to the CBI, the action was taken based on a written complaint received on December 23. The complainant alleged that Ranjan Bharti, a senior secretarial assistant at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, had demanded a bribe of Rs 60,000 to clear outstanding bills related to security and manpower services.

Based on this, the CBI laid a trap to nab the accused official. The accused official was caught red-handed accepting the bribe through banking channels.

The accused was produced in court today and remanded to three days of police custody for questioning.
