Fatehpur, October 28: A case has been registered against State Women Commission member Anju Prajapati in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday on the charges of extortion, indecency, abuse and threat to kill. The Lalauli police station took this action on Tuesday on the orders of the court.

Apart from the member, her personal secretary (PS) Arvind Bhadoria and two unidentified persons have also been made accused.

Razia Begum, a resident of Bahua town, told in the petition given to the court that her step son Imtiaz Khan has conspired with State Women Commission member Anju Prajapati and her PS Arvind Bhadoria to threaten her in order to usurp her shop. On August 7, Arvind called her to the room, misbehaved with her and forced her to sign on a blank paper under threats. They abused her, threatened to implicate her in a false case, sent her a notice from the Commission, and also demanded a ransom of one lakh rupees.

Meanwhile, State Women’s Commission member Anju Prajapati stated that the allegations against her and her personal secretary are completely baseless. A complaint hearing was underway at the Dak Bungalow when business leaders barged in and began pressuring her to give a decision in the woman’s favor. These individuals obstructed government work by issuing threats.

Laloi Police Station in-charge Shamsher Bahadur stated that State Women’s Commission member Anju Prajapati was hearing a dispute between family members over the ownership of three shops in Bahua town. On August 11, during the hearing, a member filed a death threat case against Adarsh Vyapar Mandal District President Abhinav Yadav, General Secretary Amit Sharan Babi, and Irshad Qadri, who represented one side. In response, the victim filed a petition in court to file a case against the member and others. The case has been registered and is under investigation.
