Canadian Prime Minister invites Prime Minister Modi for G-7 Summit

New Delhi, June 06: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an invitation for the G-7 Summit to be held in Kananaskis, Canada this month and he has confirmed his participation in the summit. This invitation was telephoned by Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister Mark Carney today.

It is worth mentioning that the G-7 Summit 2025 will be held from June 15 to 17 in Kananaskis, Alberta province of Canada. This summit is being hosted by Canada, which is chairing the G-7 this year.

During the phone call, Prime Minister Modi congratulated Carney for his victory in the elections and expressed gratitude for being invited to the summit.

Both the leaders discussed the strength of India-Canada relations. They emphasized that both the countries are vibrant democracies and will continue to work together on the basis of deep public relations, shared interests and mutual respect.

Prime Minister Modi wrote on ‘X’ about this conversation, “It was a pleasure to talk to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the phone. Congratulated him on his victory in the elections and thanked him for the invitation to the G-7 summit to be held in Kananaskis this month. India and Canada are vibrant democracies connected by deep people-to-people relations. We will give new energy to cooperation based on mutual respect and shared interests. Looking forward to meeting at the summit.”
