Prayagraj, 04 October: A boyfriend died after consuming poisonous substance on Friday night near Marro petrol pump in Sarai Mamarez police station area of โโPrayagraj district in Uttar Pradesh. While his girlfriend is being treated in the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ganganagar Kuldeep Singh Gunawat told that the deceased Shivam Maurya, 22 years old, is a resident of Mavaiya Hindu Vahini village in Sarai Mamarez police station area. Legal action is being taken after taking a complaint from the family.
DCP Ganganagar said that on October 2, a woman had given a complaint to Sarai Mamarez police station informing that Shivam Maurya, a resident of Mavaiya Hindu Vahini village, had lured her daughter and taken her away. The police had registered a case of kidnapping in this regard and were searching for him. Late Friday evening, information was received that a couple had consumed poison near Marro petrol pump in Sarai Mamarez police station area. The police team, responding to this information, immediately admitted both of them to Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital for treatment.
DCP apprised that doctors declared Shivam Maurya dead and began treating the girl. During questioning, the girl revealed that her family was opposing their marriage, which is why they had fled the house. Police were searching for them.
