New Delhi, October 12: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the list of candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir.
The list released on Sunday includes the names of three candidates, including Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Rakesh Mahajan and Shat Sharma.
Shat Sharma is currently the head of the BJP’s state unit in Jammu and Kashmir. He will contest the Rajya Sabha elections under the third notification, where the BJP has a numerical edge over the ruling alliance of the National Conference and Congress. The BJP has 28 votes on the seat from which Sharma will contest, while the National Conference-Congress alliance has 24 votes.
Elections for these seats are to be held on October 24.
