Bihar is a sacred land that has inspired the world for centuries, says VP Radhakrishna in his maiden Bihar visit

Patna, September 28: The Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan attended the closing session of the Unmesha International Literature Festival held in Patna on Sunday.

On this occasion, he said that the Bihar is the birthplace of Mother Sita and a sacred land that has inspired the world for centuries.

In his address, the Vice President said that this is his first visit to Bihar and he is proud to be a part of this sacred land. He said that Bihar is the birthplace of Mother Sita, who inspired the entire world by living a life of courage and perseverance. This teaching gives us the strength to struggle and move forward.

The Vice President said that Bihar has been a center of revolutionaries for centuries. At the age of 19, he himself became a part of Jayaprakash Narayan’s Total Revolution movement. Referring to the Chhath festival, he said that this festival is a unique feature of our culture, where both the rising sun and the setting sun are worshipped.

Emphasizing cultural diversity, the Vice President shared an anecdote, saying, “A friend in Europe asked me how India remains united despite so many linguistic differences. I replied that our religion unites us.” Describing Governor Arif Mohammad Khan as an old friend, Radhakrishnan said, “We have been friends since the days when we were both members of Parliament.”

Radhakrishnan, on his first visit to the state after becoming Vice President, was warmly welcomed at the airport by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha.

On his way to the venue, the Vice President paused briefly to lay a wreath at the statue of the great socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan and recalled his association with the “Loknayak.”

He said, “Today, I paid my humble tribute and homage to Jayaprakash Narayan at the JP Golambar in Patna, Bihar.”
