Ayodhya, November 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the grand, sacred ‘Dharma Dhwaja’ at a height of 161 feet atop the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, bringing to life the spiritual tradition of the Ramayana era.

As the flag hoisting process began during ‘Abhijit Muhurta’, the entire complex reverberated with the sound of conch shells, Vedic chants, and bells, creating a profound spiritual atmosphere. This flag hoisting, using modern technology, symbolized a perfect confluence of tradition and innovation.

As soon as Prime Minister Modi pressed the button, the Dharma Dhwaja slowly ascended. Witnessing this historic moment were Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and officials of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Upon reaching the flagpole, Prime Minister Modi reverently expressed his devotion to Lord Shri Ram, a sight that filled the community with dignity and pride.

Describing the Dharma Dhwaj, Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Devgiri Maharaj stated that the flag was designed in full accordance with Raghuvanshi traditions. Inspired by the traditions described in the Valmiki Ramayana, the flag incorporates three sacred symbols.

He explained that the Sun represents the eternal symbol of truth, light, and righteousness. The ‘Om’ represents eternal cosmic energy, and the ‘Kovidar’ tree represents victory and prosperity. The saffron-colored flag represents the protection of righteousness, penance, and renunciation. The flag is 22 feet long and 11 feet wide. The flagstaff supporting it is 42 feet high, with 10 feet located inside the structure and 32 feet outside. The flag is installed on a special chamber that rotates 360 degrees and can withstand wind speeds of up to 60 km per hour. A magnificent Nagara style temple, a wonderful combination of architecture and heritage,

During the hoisting of the ‘Dharma Dhwaja’, the thunderous chants of “Jai Shri Ram” from the millions of devotees present filled the atmosphere with devotion. This was the same atmosphere witnessed during the “Pran-Pratishtha” on January 22, 2024.

This moment, filled with Vedic energies and waves of devotion, became a testament to Ayodhya’s eternal identity and eternal tradition. With the hoisting of the flag, the Shri Ram Temple has been established on the world stage not only as a spiritual heritage but also as a symbol of cultural consciousness.
