Aligarh, 21 August: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday attended the Hindu Gaurav Diwas program organized on the fourth death anniversary of former Chief Minister late Kalyan Singh. Addressing the people after paying tribute to the former Chief Minister, he said that ‘Babuji’ (Kalyan Singh)’s entire life was dedicated to Indian culture, nationalism and service to the people. His legacy has become the foundation stone of UP’s development today.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Babuji was born in a small farmer family of Aligarh district. He got the values ββof nationalism from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in his childhood. As a teacher and then as a BJP worker, he dedicated his life to Mother India and Indianness. He said that today on his death anniversary, on behalf of the people of the state, on behalf of every Ram devotee and on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, I pay my humble tribute to him.
Yogi said that whatever responsibility Babuji got in Indian politics, he left an indelible mark of his ideals. As Health Minister in 1977, he gave a new direction to health services. In 1990, when the situation in the state was deteriorating, he established the rule of law and put forward the goal of good governance. As Chief Minister, he worked to take the journey of heritage and development forward together.
Played a historic role in the Ayodhya movement
He said that the Congress had dismissed his government in an undemocratic manner in 1992. In that difficult time, without delay, he sacrificed his post for the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. When the disputed structure fell, Kalyan Singh took the responsibility on his shoulders. He said that no Ram devotee should be harmed. He showed courage and paved the way for the construction of a grand temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the foundation of the environment of development, good governance and security that has been created in Uttar Pradesh today was laid by Babuji during his tenure in 1990 and 1996. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government is adopting the same ideals and taking the state to new heights. This is the true tribute to Babuji.
Attacking the opposition, Yogi said that the people who are dividing the society in the name of “PDA” (Family Development Authority) today, were the same people who once used to incite riots and ban Hindu festivals. They used to ban Kanwar Yatra, obstruct Durga Puja and Dussehra celebrations.
He said that when riots used to take place, violence erupted in Aligarh, Bareilly, Muzaffarnagar and Meerut, then these people did not speak in favor of the oppressed Hindus, Dalits and backward classes. Only BJP stood with them.
Today he said that judges who give fair verdicts are being threatened, the Election Commission is being questioned. These are the same people who conspire to make Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators voters, so that the citizens of India are deprived of their rights. Chief Minister Yogi stressed that the double engine government stands firmly against such forces. Today, following the ideals of late Kalyan Singh, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabki Suraksha is not appeasement but Sabka Saath and Sabka Suraksha is in place and the country is rapidly moving forward on the path of development.
The Chief Minister said that before 2017, riots, hooliganism and mafia rule were prevalent in the state. In the last eight and a half years, UP has become riot free and mafia free. He said that today thousands of youth from Aligarh to Kasganj and Etah have got a place in the police force under a transparent recruitment process. Earlier this was not possible due to corruption and anarchy.
Kalyan Singh ji’s life gives us the message of nationalism, public service and dedication
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Babuji’s memories also inspire the ‘lock city’ of Aligarh. The local industries and entrepreneurship here are becoming the basis for realizing the resolve of self-reliant India. He said that if we adopt Babuji’s teachings and ideals in life, then not only Uttar Pradesh but the whole of India will touch new heights. Yogi said that the ideals and legacy handed over by Kalyan Singh ji are an inspiration for the entire society. His life gives us the message of nationalism, public service and dedication. Today on Hindu Gaurav Diwas, we all resolve to make Uttar Pradesh the leading state of India’s economy by following the path of Babuji.
On this occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, State General Secretary Organization Dharampal Singh, Minister of State Sandeep Singh, Minister of State Baldev Singh Aulakh, Manohar Lal, former MP Rajveer Singh ‘Raju Bhaiya’ Uma Bharti, Kalraj Mishra and many other dignitaries were present.
