Released on October 21 on the occasion of Diwali festival, Thamma captivated audiences from the outset and has now entered the 100 crore club at the global box office. This is considered another major milestone in Ayushmann’s career.Â
According to a report by Sacnilk, “Thamma” grossed ₹13 crore on its sixth day of release. The film had also collected approximately ₹13.1 crore on Saturday. This brings the film’s total domestic box office collection to ₹91.70 crore. While the film, made with a budget of approximately ₹150 crore, still has some way to go before recovering its costs, its global earnings have already earned it considerable recognition.Â
“Thama” surpassed the lifetime collections of Varun Dhawan’s “Bhediya” in its opening weekend. Produced under the Maddock Films banner, the film has now become the fourth highest-grossing horror comedy film of all time, behind “Stree,” “Stree 2,” and “Mujhya.”
The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The powerful presence of Ayushmann and Rashmika, along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal, adds to the story. Varun Dhawan’s cameo also proved to be a surprise gift for audiences.
