New Delhi, November 10: Voting will be held on Tuesday for by-elections to eight seats across seven states and union territories, alongside the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections.
These include one seat each in Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Odisha, Telangana, Punjab, and Mizoram, and two seats in Jammu and Kashmir. Counting of votes will take place on November 14, concurrently with the Bihar Assembly elections. ls
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), these bypolls are being held to fill seats vacated by resignation, death, or disqualification of members. All preparations for voting have been completed in all these constituencies. The Election Commission stated that EVMs and VVPAT machines have been installed at all polling stations. Voters will be required to show their voter ID cards. CCTV cameras are active in all strong rooms, and any reported irregularities will be addressed immediately.
