Rohtak, October 14: The case of Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar had not yet settled when another shocking incident emerged from Rohtak on Tuesday. ASI Sandeep Lathar, posted in the Cyber Cell of the Rohtak IG’s office, committed suicide by shooting himself on Tuesday afternoon. Before dying, the ASI wrote a four-page suicide note and recorded a video, which is rapidly going viral on social media.

As per the suicide note, the ASI made serious allegations of promoting casteism and corruption against the late IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar. He also described DGP Shatrughan Kapoor, who has been sent on leave, and former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia as officers with clean and honest image.

Police have taken possession of the suicide note and launched an investigation. The police are also investigating the video made by the ASI. The ASI’s suicide has caused a stir within the police department.

According to the police, they received information that a man’s body was lying in a room in a field on the Ladhaut-Dhamad Road. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and took the body into custody. The police inspected the scene. The deceased was identified as Sandeep Lathar, a resident of Julana village in Jind district, who was posted as an ASI in the Cyber Cell of the Rohtak IG’s office. The police informed the deceased’s family about the incident, who arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information.

Police also recovered a four-page suicide note at the scene, which stated that he belonged to a family of freedom fighters. He emphasized that no one is greater than the country and society, and that Shaheed Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for the country’s independence, making him their role model. Corruption and casteism are major issues in society today, which hinder the pursuit of truth and ideals. IAS officers in Haryana engage in widespread corruption, but there are some honest officers who have significantly curbed corruption. These include Haryana DGP Shatrughan Kapoor and Rohtak Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia, who championed honesty and truth and consistently inspired police personnel to do what is right.

The suicide note makes serious allegations, including that Y. Puran Kumar was transferred to the Rohtak Range and corrupt police officers were deployed to the IG’s office, while honest officers were transferred. ASI Sandeep also made serious allegations in the suicide note, accusing Y. Puran Kumar of promoting casteism, exploiting honest employees, physically and mentally torturing ordinary citizens and businessmen, and engaging in rampant corruption. The police have taken possession of the suicide note and launched an investigation.

The deceased’s family refused to hand over the body to the police for a post-mortem examination and took it with them to their village. The family demanded that the police present the investigation report of the entire case, and only after that would they conduct the post-mortem. The police attempted to persuade the family to take the body, but they refused and took it with them.
