Lucknow/Aligarh, November 13: An Assistant teacher Shamsul Hasan has been suspended for opposing the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ at the Shahpur Qutub Higher Primary School in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
He had opposed Vande Mataram during prayer time in the school. The Education Department took action against him after an investigation. The police have also registered a case against him.
In this matter, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Mayank Pathak said on Thursday that the police reached the spot as soon as they received information and investigated. A case has been registered against the accused teacher.
According to the Rorawar police station, the teacher is accused of indiscipline and hurting religious sentiments.
It is known that ‘Vande Mataram’ is being sung collectively in schools to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that singing Vande Mataram will be made compulsory in schools.
