Kanpur, 06 July: Arhar dal, also known as toor dal or pigeon pea is one of the major pulse crops of our country. Along with pulse production, it stabilizes 150 to 200 kg of atmospheric nitrogen in the soil which increases the fertility of the soil.

According to agricultural scientists, the best time for sowing Arhar is till mid-July, informed by Dr. Akhilesh Mishra, Pulses Scientist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology.

Pulses Scientist Dr Akhilesh Mishra said that Arhar is one of the major pulse crops of our country. He said that along with Arhar production, it stabilizes 150 to 200 kg of atmospheric nitrogen in the soil which increases the fertility of the soil.
