Lucknow, September 19: The First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against five people, including Ambi Bisht, the mother of Aparna Yadav, the Vice President of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission, in connection with the Jankipuram land scam in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
The Vigilance team has filed an FIR against Ambi Bisht, the mother of Aparna Yadav, the sister-in-law and younger daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister late Mulayam Singh Yadav, on charges of corruption and criminal conspiracy. Ambi Bisht was the property officer at the time.
Besides her, the then Section Officer of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), Virendra Singh, then Deputy Secretary Devendra Singh Rathore, then Senior Cost Accountant B. Mahadani, and then Lower Division Assistant Shailendra Kumar Gupta are also named.
According to the Vigilance FIR, all of them are accused of irregularities in the Priyadarshini Plot Scheme in Jankipuram. In 2016, the government assigned the Vigilance Department to investigate irregularities in the registration and allotment of plots under the Jankipuram scheme.
Under this investigation, the role of Mukteshwar Nath Ojha, then a clerk with the Lucknow Development Authority, was to be investigated. These names surfaced during the investigation. The evidence and report obtained during the investigation were sent to the government, seeking permission to file a case. Now, after receiving government approval, Vigilance has filed a case against Ambi Bisht and others for corruption and criminal conspiracy.
