Lucknow, January 22: The Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday lashed out at the government for the insult to saints during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj.

Supporting Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the SP president condemned the administration’s behavior towards him.

Speaking to reporters in Lucknow on Thursday, Yadav said that the BJP is following the path of unrighteousness. He said that if any saint or sage is insulted, and any government does so, he will stand against it. All saints and sages, including Shankaracharya, should be respected.

The former Chief Minister said that the BJP government is working on capitalist policies. When capitalism dominates, we socialists will be concerned about how to carry forward the ideals of Janeshwar, Baba Saheb, Lohia, and leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. The BJP government has become dirtier than the Gomti River. In such a situation, public lives will only be saved when the BJP government leaves.

Regarding the death of an engineer in Noida, Akhilesh said, “The question is why all the government departments failed to save his life after the incident. It’s being reported that due to the cold water, no one came to rescue him. The engineer lost his life due to the government’s negligence.”
