Mumbai, February 5: The probe into the firing incident at film producer Rohit Shetty’s home has revealed that five prominent film personalities are also under the underworld’s radar. The Mumbai Police have received intelligence inputs about extortion threats against these five other film personalities, but none of them have yet contacted the police. This has shocked the police, but they are taking necessary action in this regard, informed the police.
The officer investigating the firing incident at film producer Rohit Shetty’s residence stated on Thursday that unknown suspects fired six rounds at the filmmaker’s residence at midnight on Sunday. Police have arrested four people from Pune in connection with the incident. During the investigation, the police have discovered shocking information that not only Rohit Shetty, but five major Bollywood stars are also being targeted by gangsters.
The police findings have revealed that absconding gangster Shubham Lonkar posted a social media post claiming responsibility for the shooting. Lonkar also claimed on social media that five film personalities, including Rohit Shetty, received extortion calls, but none of them, including Rohit Shetty, reported the incident to the police. An investigation into Lonkar’s social media posts reveals that the extortion threats are true, but the film personalities’ silence despite receiving the threats is incomprehensible. However, the police are doing their job to ensure security.
